Who we are and what this policy covers

Al-Jamila Farms is an Egyptian agricultural project spanning 500 feddans, starting with Medjool dates and looking ahead to natural products from the land to the table.

This policy applies to aljamilafarms.com and to every service connected to it: our contact forms, the newsletter, the business enquiry form, and our online store once it launches.

We are the party responsible for processing the personal data collected through this website, and we do so in line with Egyptian Law No. 151 of 2020 on Personal Data Protection.

02

The data we collect

Data you give us yourself

  • Your name, email address and phone number when you write to us through the contact form.
  • Your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter.
  • Your company name, country, type of business and enquiry details when you submit the business or export form.
  • Order, shipping and billing details when you buy from the online store once it launches.

Data collected automatically

  • Your IP address, browser and device type, operating system and display language.
  • The pages you visited, how long you stayed, and the page you arrived from.
  • Cookie data and similar measurement technologies.

We never ask for your bank card details and we never store them on our servers. Payments are handled entirely by the approved payment gateway under its own security standards.

03

Why we use your data

  • To answer your enquiries and business partnership requests.
  • To send the newsletter and farm updates — with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To process orders, arrange shipping and provide after-sales service.
  • To improve the content, performance and usability of the site.
  • To protect the site from intrusion attempts and misuse.
  • To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.

We do not use your data to make automated decisions that produce legal effects concerning you.

04

Legal basis for processing

  • Your explicit consent — for the newsletter and non-essential cookies.
  • Performance of a contract — to process and deliver your orders.
  • Legitimate interest — to improve the site and protect it from misuse.
  • Legal obligation — to retain accounting records and invoices.
05

Cookies

We use cookies to run the site and improve your experience. We group them into three kinds:

  • Essential — the site does not work without them, for example remembering your language preference and cart contents.
  • Performance and analytics — they help us understand which pages are visited most and improve them.
  • Preferences — they remember your choices so we do not ask again on every visit.

You can manage them from the cookie banner on your first visit, or from your browser settings at any time. Disabling some of them may affect how parts of the site work.

06

Who we share your data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone. We share it only to the extent necessary with:

  • Our hosting and data storage provider.
  • Online payment gateways, to complete purchases.
  • Shipping and delivery companies, to deliver your order.
  • The analytics and email tools we rely on to run the site.
  • Official authorities, where there is a binding legal request.

Everyone we work with is required to protect your data and use it only for the agreed purpose.

07

How long we keep your data

  • Contact messages: up to 24 months from the date of last correspondence.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you ask to unsubscribe.
  • Order records and invoices: for the period required by Egyptian law, and no less than five years.
  • Analytics data: up to 26 months, after which it is aggregated anonymously.

Once those periods end we delete the data or convert it into a form that cannot identify you.

08

Data security

We protect the site with SSL encryption, limit access to data to the smallest number of staff who need it to do their work, keep regular backups, and monitor unauthorised login attempts.

That said, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and inform the competent authority as the law requires.

09

Your rights

At any time you may ask us to:

  • Show you the data we hold about you and give you a copy of it.
  • Correct any data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your data, unless a legal obligation prevents it.
  • Object to or restrict a particular kind of processing.
  • Withdraw your consent to the newsletter or to cookies.
  • Lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority in Egypt.

Write to info@aljamilafarms.com and we will respond to your request within 30 days at most.

10

Transfers outside Egypt

Some of the service providers we rely on — hosting, analytics and email tools — may store data on servers outside the Arab Republic of Egypt. In those cases we work only with providers that maintain an adequate level of protection and contractual safeguards over the confidentiality of your data.

11

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at anyone under the age of eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you become aware that a child has provided us with their data, write to us and we will delete it immediately.

12

External links and services

The site links to our accounts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn, and includes a WhatsApp message button. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices. We recommend reviewing each of them before sharing any data.

13

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our services evolve or legal requirements change. We publish the updated version on this page and change the "last updated" date at the top.

If a change is substantial, we will let you know by email or through a clear notice on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change is published means you accept the updated version.

A question about your data?

You can write to us at any time to request a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted. We usually reply within 24 to 48 hours on working days.
